Brought to the Lord
I came to Hong Kong in the 1950s. Under the Lord's sovereignty, I came in contact with Christians. I heard the gospel for the first time in a gospel meeting and thought it made sense. Afterward I went to different churches for the sermon every Lord's Day, and finally was baptized in a denominational church in 1961. I came to the Sunday worship and attended Sunday school for Bible study. I believed that God is the only true God who created the universe and all the things thereof. Jesus Christ came to the world to save sinners. He was nailed to the cross and offered up as the sin offering for the people. He resurrected after three days. I know myself to be small and feeble, full of offenses toward God. I confessed the sins that I committed, repented earnestly in grief and sorrow, asking God, in His mercy, to forgive me my sins in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. I also asked the Father for grace that I could follow the Lord's divine will for the glory and honor to His name. I received righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ.
I came to the United States in 1995 and came in contact with the local church through the help of a Christian brother. I came to meetings of the local church, Lord's Day worship, and small group meetings. The brothers in the Lord care for me by their help and service.
Although I have read the Chinese Union Version of the Bible for several decades, I am now also reading the Recovery Version of the Bible. My heart looks to the Lord, praying and giving thanks in all things at all times, calling on His name, being an imitator of Him. The Triune God--the Holy Father, the Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit--is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. The Lord is among us when we gather together in His name. He sees us, and the thoughts of our heart become clear before Him. We cannot hide from Him our heart's longing and the hidden things of the heart. May the Lord touch me with His sending of the Holy Spirit, that I can be pure in mind and will to love Him wholeheartedly. Glory to His holy name.
